Stupid Telephone Company
So I called the phone company and some guy named Jose took my request to disconnect my home phone line. I am not sure what role he played in this whole thing, but the result the next day was my DSL didn't work. Here is chronological list of that days events.
10:30 am: wake up shower, eat.
11:00 am: try to check busview to see where my bus is. Internet doesn't work, so I recycle the router.
11:03 am: Internet still doesn't work. Try recycling the router again.
11:05 am: Internet still doesn't work. Oh well, give up, go to the bus stop.
12:30 pm: Go to geography class.
2:30 pm: Chat with classmate while heading to OS. He says that everything is fair and you don't owe girls anything before the ring is on your finger.
~5:00 pm: Get home and get a call from my brother, he asks "Is the Internet down?". I reply, "Yeah". Then he says "Qwest probably disconnected it".
5:30 pm: I call my ISP and as soon as I get on the line I tell him that the day before I asked my phone company to disconnect my home phone and that they also disconnected my DSL. His response "oh shit!".
So, he says they will work on it. I called Qwest and told them how retarted they are. He tells me the people who handled it were retarded too and that they did not follow standard protocol. They can't do much about it. I complain some more and suggest that they get smarter support staff. Anyways, I don't have internet at home now.
My new idea for a project is to do a photo documentary and journal about bouldering in China. Then I want to see some of the stuff to a climbing magazine. I think that will be cool since there is a not a great deal or information readily available about bouldering in China besides indoor gyms in Beijing and top roping at Yangshuo. China is a huge country, there has got to be more places than that. Not sure how the whole thing will work out. I definitely going to get a digital SLR before I head to China though.
I went to the climbing gym last night. I had a fun time, but I feel like I have lost some strength since I start toproping, but I think my endurance is better. I guess that is good, but I can't do harder grades now, which is somewhat disappointing. In the end I climb for the fun of it and the social aspect, so not getting that harder grade is not too bad ... I guess.
